Get A Rise Out Of The FlexiSpot Pro Plus Standing Desk E7
How Many Generations Old Is Your Desk?
The One Component No One Upgrades
The desk I am using is disgusting, but it holds up my monitor and provides a decent typing and mousing surface. After a time you become accustomed to your computer desk, and while it has seen many generations of components the poor thing has never once been upgraded. There comes a time when you have to realize that your desk also has an EoL and you should consider replacing it. You might not want to ever stand at your desk, but having the ability to make even minor adjustments in height is a little more useful than it might sound. There is also the matter of the cobwebs and filth which have invisibly built up behind your desk that you don’t even know are there.
A company called FlexiSpot, who deal in a variety of computer furniture up to and including standing desks reached out to see if we would be interested in a review sample. Their Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 comes in a variety of materials and colours, with a large selection of add-ons including cable management, wireless charging, drawers, wheels and more. The desk also has a 15 year warranty on the motor and all electronics, and with a five year warranty on the bamboo desktop I decided on. Coincidentally, a new desk is also an impressive source of motivation to finally clean the room.
Please note, purchase of a FlexiSpot product does not guarantee a new paint job for your room.

Some Assembly Required
The desk which arrived for review from FlexiSpot has black legs and a light coloured bamboo top, measuring 48” x 24” and with basic cable management for the desk’s electronics. There are a variety of choices of tabletop ranging from a solid black walnut top to formed fibreboard, available in two sizes, three different leg designs and a wide variety of accessories. If you already have a piece of wood in mind, you can even just order the legs which can stably handle anything up to almost two metres across! The maximum weight load of 275lbs means that even a large ultrawide monitor on a heavy duty stand will be well supported and able to be raised and lowered.
Installation, apart from hauling the 35kg box with the legs inside, couldn’t be simpler. The included bolts are all labelled in the package, so even if you have challenges assembling Ikea you won’t have to worry about assembling the Pro Plus Standing Desk E7. The bolts all use the same Allen key and have washers to ensure your table is properly secured. The two legs are individually powered and will work in either of the appropriate plugs underneath, the electronic controller wire is obvious as is the main power. All the wires tuck up into a tray and are completely out of the way. If you need to adjust the width of the legs you might need to do some drilling, however there were numerous pre-drilled holes in the bamboo model that the controller and optional accessories can be placed in a number of locations without the intervention of power tools.
Do yourself a favour and screw in the adjustable feet and give yourself a bit of slack on them before doing any other assembly, otherwise you’ll (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ .
Elelator go up!
Once everything is put together the Pro Plus Standing Desk E7 is very stable, sitting solidly and absorbing any hip checks without budging. The overall weight keeps it in place, yet leaves the underside free of obstructions for storage space or the stretching of the legs. The motors are nearly silent in operation and the controls are very sensitive, letting you adjust the height by as little as 0.1″. There doesn’t seem to be a way to adjust the display to metric, but you adjust your desk by feel and not by exact height. There are up to four presets you can program in, and a child lock mode to prevent anyone from erasing your preferred settings. This means that no matter whom may be to blame for adjusting your desk, you can put it back where it belongs at the push of a button. Along with the programmable height settings there are three levels of collision detection sensitivity, as well as the ability to disable it completely should you so desire.
The desk should be able to handle the majority of humanity’s various vertical spans, at less than two feet off the ground at its lowest and just over four feet at its tallest it offers a decent range of heights. The motors move smoothly towards both extremes, not slowing or otherwise complaining, instead the desk just politely refuses to go any farther. This behaviour should hold true for just about any tabletop material you might want to attach, perhaps short of lignum vitae.
Let’s Table This Motion
If you are so inclined to acquire a new computer desk FlexiSpot seems a wise source to consider. A 15 year warranty is nothing to sneer at and is consistent with the industry; coincidentally fitting with the last time you upgraded your desk perhaps? Herman Miller will happily charge you twice as much and while Uplift offers more tabletop choices they will still run you more than many a FlexiSpot table.
Overall you get a solid product at a very competitive price, with frequent sales to take advantage of as well. We’d like to thank FlexiSpot for sending out a reason to finally clean up my quarter of the podcast space, as well as for giving an opportunity to review the very substantial Pro Plus Standing Desk E7.

I take it you’ll be standing for the next podcast? Also, these are available here in the UK and have some good discounts at the moment for anyone interested.
LOL, nope. I like being able to raise and lower it a bit depending on what I am doing but I’ve never grasped why someone would want to stand at a desk. It is a very good desk at full price, even better on sale.
That was needed… The old table looked like something you where gifted by your parents when you where a teenager 😉
But please use a couple of Canadian rupees and replace that wall socket… my OCD is tripping
I was just measuring to see how I could fit one into my work setup… could also do with a cleanup
ya, the lightswitch is going once I figure out what I want to replace it with!
The table was here when I moved in some 20 years or so ago.
