Microsoft Leaks Dishonored 3; Remastered Fallout 3 And Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
New Leak But An Old Document
A leak of documents pertaining to the FTC vs. Microsoft court case revealed some news for gamers, if you haven’t seen it yet. The love of remasters continues, with both Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion scheduled for a graphical refresh. The document leaked was actually from 2020 and listed Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion as coming out last year. We shall see if it has been cancelled or simply delayed relatively soon; if there are no trailers at the upcoming events then cancellation is likely.
Fallout 3 will get an atomic shine next year, according to the leak which also revealed that Dishonoured 3 is in development. That is good news both for those that prefer new content to remasters, and especially for those that truly enjoyed the series. The document covered a few other projects, one of which has already come to fruition. You can see the document over at Rock, Paper, SHOTGUN.
The document is from a July 2020 Microsoft presentation about the acquisition of ZeniMax, during the early months of the Covid pandemic - as such, it doesn't reflect Microsoft and ZeniMax's plans today, following global lockdowns and the buyout, and several of the dates are obviously bogus. Still, it's probably a good steer as to current and future Bethesda and ZeniMax projects, which may include Dishonored 3 and remasters of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.
