A company called AVEXIR have released a 2x4GB RAM kit of DDR3-3100 (PC3-24800)
@ 12-15-15-35. You can pick them up for a mere $2000, a discount of $8000 from the usual price! They don't do too badly in the benchmarks at TechPowerUp and did allow some overclocking above even that insane frequency. There are not too many motherboards which support this speed and these DIMMs get hot so make sure you have thought long and hard before purchasing this kit.
"I've got AVEXIR's latest high-performance Core Series 3100 MHz C12 DIMMs in for testing, and they definitely show what Avexir is capable of. Not for everyone, this blazingly fast kit will probably also make your wallet crumble to dust."

Jeremy, I’m sorry dude but
Jeremy, I’m sorry dude but the standards of pcper are really slipping, and you’re not helping.
First, you didn’t link to the Techpowerup benchmarks you mentioned, which is kind of the whole point of an article like this, since it’s just a summary of someone else’s more through article.
Second, it’s a little shitty to see commission junction redirects for a simple newegg product page. Not that anyone is against you guys making some commissions or whatever, but there’s privacy concerns with trackers like commissionjunction.
The link was at the lower
The link was at the lower right hand side where it says source.
As deowll pointed out, even
As deowll pointed out, even if I manage to forget a link in the text there is always a link available. I just fixed the missing link.
As for CJ, we've been using it for over a year and as far as I know the only concern is that sometimes it doesn't track a sale which means PCPer misses out on the small commision; which doesn't cost you a penny but helps keeps us on the web.
Even at these crazy high
Even at these crazy high prices, is the much profit to set aside dye, etc to make these? Or are these like concept show cars…one offs that aren’t generally for the public but instead to show off design and tech? Who buys these?
I never heard of that brand
I never heard of that brand before. From their website (http://www.avexir.com) they appear to be a custom RAM manufacture.
So, yes, I would believe that these are for show. You can even get the RAM in custom colours and even your own branding.
For those particular DDR3, they sure are really over-priced and may not even be compatible with you rig. Even the CLS is nothing extreme.
Not for the general public, sadly.
