It’s Like Metal Gear Solid, Only Different

The Patriot Viper Steel 16GB DDR4 kit which Modders-Inc just reviewed offers you a lot of choices when it comes to frequencies.  The default frequency is 2133MHz with timings of 15-15-15-36, but their are also XMP profiles for 3866MHz and 3733MHz, both with timings of 18-22-22-40.

The DIMMs were tested with a Core I9-9900k and I7-8700k on a Z390 Aorus Pro motherboard and the processor seemed to make more difference than the frequency.  With the i9 they could hit 4133MHz when overclocking while the i7 topped out at 4000MHz, something to keep in mind if you are in the market for a new machine.

There are several companies people think of when it comes to good memory. G. Skill and Corsair just to name a few. However, in my humble opinion, one company that too often gets overlooked is Patriot. This is something that even I was guilty of at one point.
