AMD or NVIDIA, The Acer Nitro XV273K Will Fulfill Your Eyeholes

144Hz @ 4K, Without The Pain

Acer’s Nitro XV273K offers both 4K resolution and a top refresh rate of 144Hz via FreeSync, though not simultaneously.  By making use of dual DisplayPort connections this monitor is capable of 10-bit colour HDR without chroma subsampling, but doing so does disable it’s adaptive sync capabilities.  With a single DP cable you can achieve HDR at a 120Hz refresh rate but you will have chroma subsampling unless you drop down to 60 Hz.  This does offer a lot of choice for someone who is willing to balance performance against proper colour, and that remembers it’s announcement almost a year ago.

TechSpot recommends choosing 120 Hz in SDR over a single DisplayPort cable, which allows you to enjoy FreeSync and a GtG response time of 7.52ms.  For all that you get, the current $800 price tag sits at about half of the price of comparable monitors and thanks to NVIDIA’s wisdom even GTX/RTX owners should be able to enjoy the adaptive sync features.

If you prefer more complex naming schemes, Ilyama has you covered below.

The Acer Nitro XV273K is the first monitor to bring a 4K resolution and 144 Hz refresh rate to gamers at a more affordable price point. At about $900, we wouldn't call this a value offering, but given what's on offer and at half the cost of competing high-refresh 4K monitors, it is no doubt a tempting proposition for those buying a premium display.
