The launch and subsequent availability of Kaveri is scheduled for the CES time frame. The APU unites Steamroller x86 cores with several Graphics Core Next (GCN) cores. The high-end offering, the A10-7850K, is capable of 856 GFLOPs of compute power (most of which is of course from the GPU).

We now know about two SKUs: the A10-7850K and the A10-7700K. Both parts are quite similar except that the higher model is given a 200 MHz CPU bump, 3.8 GHz to 4.0 Ghz, and 33% more GPU units, 6 to 8.
But how does this compare? The original source (prohardver.hu) claims that Kaveri will achieve an average 28 FPS in Crysis 3 on low at 1680×1050; this is a 12% increase over Richland. It also achieved an average 53 FPS with Sleeping Dogs on Medium which is 26% more than Richland.
These are healthy increases over the previous generation but do not even account for HSA advantages. I am really curious what will happen if integrated graphics become accessible enough that game developers decide to target it for general compute applications. The reduction in latency (semi-wasted time bouncing memory between compute devices) might open this architecture to where it can really shine.

Since Richland cross-fires with 7750, it is safe to assume that Kavery will as well cross-fire.

since when does richland cross fire with the 7750? According to every thing I have heard anything higher than a 6670 disables the apu’s video cores. Sure you can conect the 7750 to your motherboard crossfire port, but you will only get the proformance of the discrete card.

There are numerous examples of people successfully hybrid crossfiring the 7750 with the A10-6800(Richland) (See You-Tube). It is not officially supported by AMD, but it works!
I think 30% is to be expected
I think 30% is to be expected due to the jump in shader processors: 384 VLIW4 to 512GCN.
If the increase is lower than 30% then probably there are other bottlenecks (like memory badwidth or the CPU cores).
It can also be that the drivers are very immature. Looks like AMD may just serve yet another anticlimactic product.

With the right simulation software, that is available to all CPU designers/manufacturers it is possable farely accurately test designs well before they are committed to silicon, and yes trying to simulate an entirely new design, from a previous generation SKU’s performence needs a Big * and capital letters in the footnotes, short of having an actual engineering sample at hand. The big uncertainty for everyone is always the fabrication process and yields, and the inevitable binning that happens with every new fab node process, new/recurring driver headaches, and other business concerns *.
