The Seagate Barracuda Pro 10TB Enterprise HDD won't give you the fastest access to your data, but if you have a large amount of storage in a reliable format it is worth looking at this review. The MSRP of $444.45USD is much lower than you would pay for 10TB of SSD storage, though you might be able to set up several smaller disks in a Drobo or similar device for a similar price. The MTBF is 2.5 million hours, the endurance rating is 550TB per year and there is a 5 year warranty so even with heavy usage you should be able to depend on this drive for quite a long time. You can drop by NikKTech to see how it performs.
"The Seagate Barracuda Pro 10TB hard disk drive offers good endurance levels with great performance and an even greater capacity. The Enterprise Capacity 3.5 V6 10TB model again by Seagate boosts even higher performance and endurance numbers without asking more from your wallet."

Sebastian said the same thing. Guess the Hitachi Deathstar stands out much larger in my memory than anything Seagate did.

By comparison, that old Hitachi/IBM deathstar was a blip alongside Seagate’s long and storied history of sub-quality storage products.
I run six HGST drives mostly 4TB and a pair of He8’s, and I’ve run HGSTs for years. For me they have been solid.

Huge? That’s less disk space than I have at home right now, and my drives are filled to the brim.

Hang on, that not proper English. Grammar rules state that you cannot have the words “Seagate” and “reliable” in the same sentence without being qualified with a negative modifier.
Deciding to buy the Seagate
Deciding to buy the Seagate 10TB or other STX enterprise storage “these days” is like buying a new Dodge Ram pick-up truck…might look good on the outside and the features marketed well, but the reliability doesn’t match and the price you pay is more than you should pay for the BEST performing 10TB helium HDD on the market. Side by side, STX falls short compared to the performance, reliability, quality, TCO and $/GB of its nearest competitor…and I’m not referring to Toshiba!
The only reason Seagate has
The only reason Seagate has higher failure rates, is due to higher sales, use simple logic before false accusing.
More sold = more returned.
