Really hot news is breaking,
Really hot news is breaking, and PCPER needs to do more late internet reading of breaking news from the interwebs!

Ya, our Flux capacitor is
Ya, our Flux capacitor is still on the fritz so our "News from 24 hours in the future" feature is on hold for now.
I found some mention of this
I found some mention of this news, a few days earlier from when I saw the Tech Report article, doing some after the news broke Google-ING after my first time reading of this news at tech report. So any feature Fluxing should be only used for lottery numbers, while I’ll start to make it a once a day checking of the Global Foundries'(GF) web/news portal. But that’s good news for AMD and GF. With Samsung and GF both getting their 14nm ducks in order, the consumer wins!
Now just get some AMD Carrizo FX8800p based Laptop SKUs in the retail channels that can run the FX8800P at 35 watts without thermal throttling and I’m good to go! That newer Carrizo/Excavator refresh SKU that was hinted at from a USB-IF entry sounds nice, if they don’t get stuck by the OEMs putting it in only thin and lights and gimping it to 15 watts usage instead of 35 watts!
Look at this, Google wants to
Look at this, Google wants to design its own Smart Phone Chips! Just get AMD to bake you up a custom K12 ARM core for your exclusive use Google, what do you think M$ and Sony did for their Console chips. Give AMD a commission and fund the design. AMD has a custom and Semi-Custom APU/CPU division, get one of those Keller Designed Cores and maybe it will be a custom K12 ARM core with SMT, and Apple does not even have that yet! AMD needs the business, big loans coming dew around 2019, Keep competition alive!

K12 probably will not be
K12 probably will not be suitable fo smart phones even though it is an ARM chip. It seems to share a lot of design elements with Zen, so it will probably be the highest performing ARM chip available unless some other companies make some big jumps. It will probably not be low enough power for phones though. As far as I know, it was aimed more at ARM based servers. It may be able to go down to the ultra light laptop range though, which makes me wonder if Apple will be switching all of their products to ARM with AMD’s help. Apple’s A10 may be powerful enough for a MacBook Air sized device or maybe even larger, and AMD’s ARM chips could be used for the iMacs, MacBook Pros, and other devices.

Guys,
Is there a way to post/email questions or topics on the website that could be discussed in a slow news week podcast. (PS: I’m not on twitter and I am no good with voicemail)
Thanks
