After updating to 16.7.3 on
After updating to 16.7.3 on my Fury X, RCS crashes every once in a while. Not the display drivers themselves crash, just the program so it’s nothing super jarring.
Not too big a deal, definitely not the horror that was having GFE crash mid-install every driver update, but still a tad annoying nonetheless.

More AMD driver goodness!
I didn’t need to, but installed them anyways. Crossfire 390x cards are purring along. Keep’em coming!

We’ve discovered the following issues on 16.7.3 that are not present on 16.7.2:
Limitation on memory overclocking (down to 2050MHz ceiling from 2250MHz; for perspective, we previously hit 2200MHz stable on our memory OC). This is a minor issue as it barely impacts FPS, but one which should certainly be resolved as it eats into the fun of overclocking.
Hard crashes and system locks during gaming, specifically GTA V. The game will completely freeze, and all input fails to interrupt the freeze. The system must be reset by switch.
As a result of the above, we have received blue screens and prompted auto-recoveries during reboot. Note that we were never faced with a dead OS, and were able to eventually get back into the system by rebooting one more time.
Fail to colored (white, green, cream, etc.) screen on desktop. Complete system lock that requires hard reboot to recover.
Maybe some driver issues for
Maybe some driver issues for windows 10, or users not uninstalling the previous drivers properly. And Nvidia appears be sponsoring a lot of out of date comparisons with AMD’s non GCN GPUs compared to Nvidia’s Maxwell and Pascal SKUs. There are plenty of folks not comparing Polaris, or any GCN based AMD GPUs to Nvidia’s Maxwell and Pascal SKUs, and it looks like Nvidia is trying to divert attention from the whole 970 settlement, and Nvidia’s lack of in hardware async compute! How about some research into AMD primitive discard accelerator and other hardware features. Just look at the websites and see the pro Nvidia astroturfing trying to manage public opinion!
The amount of sponsored “opinion” articles out there is going up up up, especially with the PC market shrinking and the PC/Laptop makers and ODM suppliers fighting it out over market share in a contraction market place. Things are getting desperate in the PC/laptop markets as margins start to shrink and economies of scale contract making for plenty of revenue contraction.
I find it funny how the only
I find it funny how the only source to report any of those issues is GamerNexus. I’m not sure if the bloke has an inate hatred towards amd or just pure incompetence but it always seems they report amd doing something wrong…don’t get me wrong its fine to have preferences but the moment you let them cloud your judgement and they start acting as a bias you should really take a hard look at yourself
All the online
All the online PC/laptop/other review websites have an intrinsic conflict of interest with the makers of reviewed PC products providing too much in the way of sample control and ad support to the online review businesses. There many online websites that are little more than de facto marking services to any and all makers who will provide financial/review sample support.
There is an online industry of blokes(Shills) that will spin out any yarns at the set fees, so it’s not restricted to just one site writer/reviewer hating one brand of product. The large interests like M$, Intel, Nvidia have more cash to purchase positive spin, or to hire more blokes to spin things negative for the competition. The technology monopolistic interests are worse than the old Oil, railroad, telecom/telegraph industries were in their heydays! The technology/PC industry has lost its luster and really deserves the least amount of trust, better yet no trust at all!
It’s got some truth to the
It’s got some truth to the article as one of the issues they reported in the article did indeed happen to me on my RX 480 after update to this driver. I tried out a few games and everything was fine until playing DS3 and after playing an hour or so, after quitting game screen froze and turned completely green, just as shown in one screen shot. I admit I didn’t do a clean uninstall of drivers, but having come from Nvidia prior never had to do this so it’s new to me needing to do this before installing new drivers with AMD.
After doing an update to this
After doing an update to this new 16.7.3 on a windows 7 64 bit, it would boot to no hdmi input and trashes my usb drivers for both my mouse and keyboard. I tried it all different ways with basicly the same results.had to uninstall all of it and then go with four year old drivers. So much for bold and great
